Service Description: Group therapy for individuals with aphasia and other acquired communication disorders
  • emphasizes communication activities
  • focuses on effective communication, not just speech
  • provides support to family members
  • educates the community about aphasia

Fees: None
Application: Complete referral form and fax (905-849-0424) to Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Program for review and determination of eligibility to the program. Referrals can be made by Professionals in the community (Discharge Planners, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, Physicians, etc.), Self-referrals (clients can refer themselves to the program), Family or Friends of the person with aphasia.
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Program is for people who: want to practice and improve their communication skills * are independent in the washroom * are independent with eating and drinking * have transportation to the program
