Service Description:
|
Occupational Therapy provides benefits to adult patients with impaired functioning due to physical injury or illness such as stroke or osteoarthritis * therapists assess the function and adaptive behaviour of patients, and provide treatment and prevention measures for disorders which affect function * assessment and treatment helps to promote, develop and maintain function and independence in daily living
Interventions are directed toward physical function, sensory retraining, activities of daily living, perceptual/cognitive functions, vocational adjustment, emotional adjustment, splinting and equipment prescription (wheelchairs, assistive devices)
Outpatient Occupational Therapy services are available for splinting only
