The centre specializes in neuro-rehabilitation and child and youth development, providing treatment to help individuals and groups achieve and increase independence and healthy lifestyles
All of our music therapy programs are adapted for the individuals involved and are based on Neurologic Music Therapy (https://nmtacademy.co) techniques - meaning that music is in a specific way to access different areas of the brain in order to facilitate change or learning of a new skill, or maintain current skills (these could be social, cognitive, physical, emotional, sensory, communication, etc). All programs are facilitated or supervised by certified music therapists specializing in Neurologic Music Therapy and include assessment, treatment goals, and evaluation
Populations worked with include, but are not limited to: stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, cerebral palsy, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and other neurological diseases affecting cognition, movement, and communication (e.g., MS, Muscular Dystrophy, etc).
