Service Description:
|
Supportive temporary housing (up to one year) to help with the transition to independent living
Housing option for abused women and their children who need affordable housing while getting back on their feet
A woman (an abused woman) can apply for Second Stage Housing regardless of whether or not she stayed in the emergency shelter
Women in Second Stage Housing:- must apply, be accepted and sign a contract acknowledging their responsibilities as a resident of a Second Stage House.
- may stay for up to 6 months.
- must pay monthly rent based on their income.
- may share the home with other women and their children.
- are responsible for general housekeeping, cutting the grass, shoveling the driveway, etc.
- must work with staff to complete a goal plan for taking the practical steps to independence
